About: Ted Fiskevold

I am the proud husband of Marysia and father of Gwenia and Hank; a proud member of the National Writers Union, UAW Local 1981, Twin Cities Local 13, AFL-CIO; and a proud member of Minnesota's Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (the DFL). I met Marysia on a UAW picket line in Southfield, MI while writing a story about her strike for the UAW's SOLIDARITY mag. I grew up on Minnesota's Mesabi Iron Range. My father worked in the Iron Mines for 34 years; my mother worked in sewing factories. We were a union working family in union country--Iron Range populists--and we voted DFL because we knew Democrats (DFLers in Minnesota) supported working people and workers rights. Today, Marysia and I are a working family in Minnesota. We vote for DFLers because we know they still support working people and worker's rights.
